How to Build Confidence

Confidence ain’t something you achieve.

It’s something you are.

It’s how you act.
It’s how you walk.
It’s how you talk.

It’s an expression of your inner being.

And if you ain’t confident right now, that’s ok.

You will become it.

Especially if you apply what you learn in this article.

Something important to remember.

Building confidence takes time.

It’s not something you’ll read one article about and then automatically have for the rest of your life.

It’s going to take time, effort, and consistency.

But the good news is, it doesn’t take forever.

Matter of fact, as long as you work on it consistently, you’ll start seeing progress in a matter of months.

Maybe faster.

And the more you work on it, the more confident you’ll be.

So how do you build confidence?

If you aren’t confident already, you probably don’t believe you can handle any situation life throws at you.

So if you wanna become confident, you gotta prove to yourself that you can handle anything life throws at you.

How do you do that?

By taking action.

What stops you from taking action?

Now of course, if it was really that simple, you wouldn’t be reading this article right now.

If you could just get yourself to take action any time you needed to, you would have been doing that a long time ago.

And you would already be the confident person you were destined to be.

I understand that completely.

If that’s a problem for you, the key is removing what’s causing the problem.

And what’s causing the problem that’s stopping you from taking action?

For most people, it’s their thoughts.

Your thoughts are destroying your confidence.

Whether it’s because of your own negative experiences and failures, or because you were conditioned to see yourself in a negative way, your lack of confidence comes down to believing negative thoughts you have about yourself.

“I can’t do it.”
“I don’t know how.”
“I’m not good enough.”

When you believe those thoughts, you express them.

Sometimes in words.
Sometimes in actions.

Or more specifically, a lack of action.

Negative thoughts trigger negative thoughts.

Every time to believe a negative thought about yourself, you create a new one.

You do something that you think “proves” the original negative thought, and then you follow that up with another negative thought that supports the original one.

It’s a vicious, never ending, negative cycle.

How do you end the cycle?

You replace a negative thought with a positive thought.

That’s it.

It ain’t always easy, but it is that simple.

Your mind tells you:

“I can’t do it.”

You replace that with:

“Yes I can.”

Regardless of what happens after, you just interrupted the cycle.

Instead of following up one negative thought with another one, you replaced it with a positive thought.

What do you think the impact of that would be?

Do you know what happens when you have one positive thought?

You have another one.

The value of forcing positive thoughts.

When you start forcing yourself to have positive thoughts, you won’t always believe them.

You’ll think something positive, and then your mind will habitually go back into a negative thought cycle.

It’s not your fault.

For years and years and years, your mind has been conditioned to behave this way.

It’s going to take more than 2-3 positive thoughts to completely reverse the cycle.

But the good thing is that now, you have power over your mind.

You don’t just let your mind spin out of control and direct your life without your input.

You have now made a conscious decision to step in and do something about it.

And that, my friend, is the first step to building confidence.

How does positive thinking build confidence?

When you do anything in life, good or bad, there are many different explanations for why you did what you did and what it says about you.

When you are a positive thinker, you tend to focus on the positive explanations, which impacts the way you feel about yourself.

When you feel good about yourself:

  • You take more chances
  • You speak positively about yourself
  • You don’t feel so bad when you mess up

And you know what that’s called?

Confidence.

The truth about building confidence.

Don’t get it twisted.

Positive thinking by itself won’t make you confident.

You still have to take action.

You have to do enough things to show yourself that you can handle whatever situations life throws your way.

Even if you fail.

It doesn’t matter.

When you get back up and try again, and keep doing that over and over, you show yourself that you can handle it.

That you are made for it.
That you are worth it.

You can handle the pain.
You can handle the failure.
You can handle the frustration.

You can handle all the ups and downs.

And when you know you can handle anything and not waver…

You are confident.

I’ve been trying for a while to get my bag up so I can finally control my own schedule and live my life on my own terms, but sometimes I feel like it’s taking too long to work out. You feel me? And listen, if I’m being 100 with you, the more I think about it, the more I realize I really can’t be mad at anyone but myself. I put myself behind the 8 ball. All them nights when I had hella free time, and all I did was spend hours and hours: Laying around watching YouTube videos Playing the game...

The big mistake most people make… Is that they think confidence is something you get from somebody else. In other words… They think other people need to give them their approval for them to be confident. And the reason they constantly feel stuck in life is cause they keep sitting back waiting for an approval that ain’t never coming. Let me be real with you… The only thing you really need to be worried about is how you feel about yourself. Cause true confidence doesn’t come from the outside....

Don’t call yourself lazy. You’re not lazy. You’re just confused. I’ve been there. Trying to figure out what I could do to make the most money, that I would actually enjoy doing and not feel like I was slaving my life away. But now, I see things a different way. I’ve finally realized… Your passion is already in you. It ain’t something you find by thinking. It’s something you find by doing. And the good thing for you, is that you still got time. The best thing you can do for yourself right now...
